You can visit UAN’s Web site without telling us who you are or revealing any personally identifying information. Our Web site does include areas where visitors can provide personally identifying information voluntarily. Therefore we have developed this privacy policy to inform you of our policies and practices regarding information we collect when you visit us online at www.uan.org.

This Web site is owned and operated by UAN for the benefit of our members, volunteers and other visitors interested in animal protection and welfare. How and why we collect information.
Information you provide voluntarily.
UAN collects and maintains certain personal information about you when you send us an e-mail or complete any of our online forms. These activities include requesting information, donating or subscribing to one of our online news alerts. Such information may include your name, mailing address, e-mail address and any other information collected in the forms. You may be asked to provide credit card information to become a member of UAN, contribute to UAN or purchase products or materials from the UAN Store. UAN maintains an opt-in policy for its e-mail communications. That means we only send e-mail to individuals who have requested that these mailings be sent to them. W e will not share, sell or rent your e-mail address to another organization.
Other Information.
Our Web site also collects some other information that cannot identify you personally when you visit www.uan.org. This information includes your IP address and your domain name. The site www.uan.org logs these IP addresses and domain names to monitor the use of our site. We use the aggregated information to measure the number of visits to our site, the average time spent on our site, the number of pages viewed, and various other site statistics. This information is used to improve the quality of our site for members and other visitors.
How we use this information.
We may use the information you voluntarily provide to contact you regarding animal-related issues we think you may be interested in, to keep you updated on our programs, and/or to extend an invitation to you to support our lifesaving programs and initiatives, particularly during disaster or other emergencies when animals are in imminent danger. Each recipient of our electronic communications can quickly and easily "opt out" of future contact by following the instructions on any electronic communication we send.
If you have become a member of UAN by making a donation, we may make your voluntary information, such as your name and mailing addresses, available to other animal protection organizations. We never disclose credit card information. UAN uses very strict standards in determining which reputable animal organizations become part of our network to ensure they are committed to the protection of our members’ privacy and to UAN’s mission. If you are a UAN member and would like to review, update or remove your information, or if you do not wish your information to be shared with other animal organizations, please e-mail us . If you are not a UAN member but you have voluntarily provided your name and address through our site via the methods listed above, this information will not be shared.
Security.
UAN uses generally accepted, industry-standard security systems, software and encryption technologies to protect against unauthorized access to UAN servers, equipment, and other components of our online presence. This includes using industry-standard security systems to protect credit card processing information. The companies that we use to maintain our database of donor, supporter and e-mail subscriber information are considered industry leaders and employ the most technologically advanced and sound security practices.
Please note that UAN will never send you an e-mail that asks you to provide personal information, such as credit card or banking information. Please beware of e-mails that look like they are from UAN but ask you to provide personal information. These e-mails might be phishing scams. Read more.
